Contemporary cinema continues researching new cinematographic forms, from the avant-garde to expanded cinema. On this journey, the museum has established itself as a space where cinema also has a place, hosting the experimental discourses and proposals of a new generation of authors within its halls.

This project explores recent film creation in Spain and Portugal, and contextualises it in the framework of a reflection on cinema beyond the screen, where the museum halls provide a specific place to project new imaginaries.
The exhibition hosts proposals previously unpublished, or presented for the first time, in Galicia, by Oliver Laxe, Susana de Sousa Dias, Albert Serra, Helena Girón and Samuel M. Delgado, Lois Patiño, Salomé Lamas, Isaki Lacuesta and Laida Lertxundi. In their exhibition format, each filmmaker articulates new works that draw cinematographic parables with installation proposals that take up two floors of the museum. New languages that bring us closer to realities from a contemporary perspective while showing us the narrative and physical possibilities - from the point of view of the creators, but also from the experience of the audience as a whole - of a constantly reinventing medium.
In parallel to the exhibition, a programme of screenings, conferences and meetings will contribute towards contextualising and extending the field of research on the concepts raised, giving us a chance to complete this generational perspective with other creations made for cinema halls and also listen to the authors dialoguing with specialists about new forms of cinema.
